“Asian fishing” (a Twitter/tiktok term) or a more politically correct term, “East Asian baiting” (don’t ask me why they chose those names), basically means using cosmetics to obtain features that look East Asian.

Asian, and even East Asian is a general term. There’s a lot of diverse features included. So I want to focus on Irene. I feel its offensive when people try to give themselves Irene-inspired characteristics when it’s not natural to them. That includes Koreans. Obviously people who look like Irene are a minority and as such shouldn’t be treated as just an aesthetic people want to “borrow” from.
