Whether right wing or left wing, none seem to want to talk about the genocide level violence perpetuated by drug cartels south of the US. There have been thousands killed yearly due to "drug turf wars" where drug organizations target entire communities if they feel they have sided with a rival cartel or crew. Recently on the CCP spyware platform, TikTok, millions of young teens became aware of cartel violence when they saw a video of a young girl get her head completely cut off.
There are many reasons why the cartels have gained power over the decades:
- many poor and rich people alike consider drugs like a human right and they don't care how many innocent Latinos die as long as the drugs keep flowing
- the US economy and US dollar depends a lot on the profits from drug money laundering, so big finance and the CIA see them as a plus
- modern social rights activism only seems to be effective when utilizing guilt feelings, but the cartels just care for money and power, not politics
- US weapons companies make a lot of money from sales to the cartels
- people get easily afraid of others who don't have second thoughts about using violence to solve problems
Hence even young children are open targets to the cartel and nobody will do anything about it, including the military. And you can bet there won't be a single hashtag for this poor girl by the twitter keyboard warriors, because even they know cancelling doesn't work against real threats.
