On one side, there are groups and companies that build entire comebacks around Tiktok virality. Short songs, repetitive chorus and choreography made to loop perfectly in 15 seconds. For these groups, their song performance largely depends on the algorithm...how fast their sound spreads, how many influencers use it, and how quickly it becomes a trend. Tiktok isn’t just promotion for them. It's the driving force behind their success and without it, their charts would collapse.
On the other side, there are groups that don’t really rely on Tiktok. It might help their songs spread faster, but they would continue doing well even without the extra push. They chart because of the music, the members and their popularity among gp. Their popularity doesn’t depend on an algorithm.
If Tiktok really vanished tomorrow, the difference would be obvious. Some of the groups everyone is hyping as one of the popular names would suddenly look much smaller. Streams would drop, relevance would disappear, and their clout would evaporate almost overnight. Meanwhile, the groups that built themselves outside of trends would barely feel a thing.
