I think a lot of it is bandwagon hate and even sarcasm, mostly bc of that cringe ass video. Only very few people are talking about the mcd thing.
And I've also seen a lot of hit tweets about how they "can't believe out of everyone mark lee is being cancelled" bc he has always had a good rep and is universally loved by even non-fans. So I see it a lot as some sort of weird meme.
