I don't think that I usually do that anymore. (despite the fact that I was listening to music while writing a poem two days ago)
Nowadays, I often do it in silence and at night.
When I was younger, writing fanfics on that on fanfic website or wrote original stories on Word, I sometimes listened to music while writing.
And I remember when I tried to do something based on "shuffle fanfics", where I would make characters, then a kinda random playlist and then I put the playlist on shuffle and listened, while writing a story on my notebook with one of the characters as the main character. (and even wrote the song title and artist in my notebook)
I later did something similar but changed the playlist to not being on shuffle.
I often took some of those stories and put them in the Word document, and edited them.
Maybe I should try this thing again to get rid of my writing blocks and writing slumps.
One kinda bad thing about this is that the music can be distracting.

Ironically, I listened to music while making this thread lol (but I then felt distracted and turned off the music)
