Is the K-POP trainee system unfair?

  • Is it? 5

    1. Yes. (4) 80%
    2. No. (1) 20%

There are many dark sides to the k-pop industry. The main root of this dark side is the trainee system. Not of a lot of us are aware of what truly goes on behind the scenes but I'm sure we can all make educated guesses on the true extent of what happens based on the stories and documentaries that have been released.

I can think of a few people who think its fair and that makes me wonder what the lot of you think in comparison to those few people. So now I ask you: do YOU think the k-pop trainee system is unfair? Why do you think so?

  • Not sure unfair is the right word maybe dark, inhumane or unlawful  going hours upon hours training nonstop, probably being starved and what other things trainees are forced to endure all for the hope to debut which isn’t guaranteed at the end  it’s cruel

I'm using "unfair" as an umbrella term but yes, you're absolutely right. Even "cruel" is an understatement.

  • yes I think it's unfair however there's not much in this world that is fair

if you are young and get offered a trainee contract and even a debut standard 7 year contract - READ YOUR BLOODY CONTRACT and hire a bloody lawyer

and if you cannot afford a lawyer you cannot afford to give up the next 7 (+ training) years of your life under a potential slave contract

not saying that having a lawyer will allow you to change things but at the very least you should have a clearer picture of what you are getting into

and if you are a minor then you better hope your parents are there to look out for your best interests
