"Police secure Mino's military service records for 'violation of the Military Service Act'... Investigating whether there was any unauthorized absence."
The police have obtained the service records of Song Min-ho (31) from the group "WINNER" in connection with allegations that he performed inadequately as a public service worker. They are currently investigating whether there was any unauthorized absence from duty. At a regular press briefing on the 6th, a National Police Agency official stated, "We recently executed a search and seizure warrant at Mr. Song's workplace and residence, securing CCTV footage and service records," adding, "We are verifying his attendance hours and whether he left his post without permission."
Previously, an entertainment media outlet reported suspicions that while performing alternative service, Mr. Song went on a 5-night, 6-day trip to Hawaii in the United States on October 31. It was also alleged that he failed to adhere to proper working hours after the trip, raising concerns about his work attitude. Mr. Song had been serving as a public service worker at a community facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, until he completed his service on November 23.
The police initiated an investigation into Mr. Song on charges of violating the Military Service Act after receiving a request from the Military Manpower Administration on the day he was discharged from duty. On November 27, the police conducted a search and seizure at Mr. Song's workplace and residence. Once the analysis of the seized materials is complete, the police plan to summon Mr. Song for questioning.
