My Danish skills though...
I already could speak Danish 1 year before I even learned it in school.
I was bilingual at 8 years old.
At 13-14, when my classmates were watching English speaking movies without Danish subtitles, I had a hard time understanding some of what they were saying. but when I watched Danish stuff, I understood almost everything.
But well... Danish is also kinda similar to my native language and in my native language we often use Danish words in our sentences.
And in my country, they often show Danish TV shows and movies, sell Danish comics etc...
I was also very much exposed to the Danish language when I was younger and watched a lot of Danish dubbed Disney movies.
Well... I could also understand some Norwegian and Swedish as a child, but that's because it's similar to Danish.
