I thought I will write a simple review of "Hierarchy" kdrama. Nothing too serious, just few things I liked without spoiling too much.
Pros:
1. Despite young cast, their acting is overwhelming. By that I mean young actors match the skills of much more experienced ones who are playing parents, director, and teacher roles. Overall it's more mature than you would expect after seeing some photos or short clips online.
2. Plot, from the get go the base of plot is very deep, dark, and is luring you into the hallways of Jooshin High School. There are also good plot twists and surprises which make things interesting.
3. Emotions. The script and acting together easily play on viewers emotions. But it's also the way how each of characters has their own motive, and each of them quickly showing two faces. No one is ideal in this drama.
4. Tears, because I cried. Not one, or two times but more when I was watching it. And it means a lot when it's a limited series with just 7 episodes yet it still makes you feel 'things'.
5. Love - but not in a way of rom-com. Rather than that it's characters 'craving' for love, acceptance, true friendship. Which leaves a strong impression considering in what messy situation they all are.
Cons:
1. I've mentioned it's limited series, it has just 7 episodes. It has pros and cons, but obviously if something is so good, you want to watch more. The first thing I've did after watching it was searching if there will be second season.
2. Post credits scene after ep 7. Like in point 1, it's a con too, because we want it too happen, to be more of it, yet still it's a cliffhanger, after "main" ending?!
I'll leave you with this video, which is from episode 1. If my words didn't make you want to watch it, then maybe this clip will.
