They have cancelled and announce the winner without live voting score, it’s doable
And afaik mnet prerecording is done throughout the week prior to show. If the show really must go on let the recorded stages run without mc script and then use voice over for winner announcement

+the time between the moment yonhap reported it through the time fantagio said they are confirming news to the time when ASTRO official accounts confirmed it
if I remember correct the first news came out about 5-6PM here in Poland which means in Korea it was already night
so before confirmation came it was already morning
and we know that groups many times wake up at 3-4 in the morning to attend pre-recordings of music shows
put all that to play and you have already hard situation
I do agree with one thing tho, sometimes music shows are canceled for very small reasons like some sports game, holiday, kids writing exams in school, etc.
MNet could for example cancel M Countdown
but go through with Boys Planet final episode (which is happening now)
