The Goose Who Fell in Love with a Prince

    - Part 1 -

It was a sunny summer day in the park.

The goose was swimming around in the duck pond.

The sun was shining on her feathers.

Suddenly she saw two men walking by the pond.

One of them was wearing fancy clothes.

She believed it was a royalty.

The other man was a servant, who looked shorter than him.

"What a lovely weather today, your highness." the servant said. "Isn't it?"

"That is true." the prince responded.

"I hope we will have a lot of good weather this week."

The prince looked at the pond.

He caught his eyes on the goose swimming in the pond.

Her cheeks turned pink like an orchid, when their eyes met.

A smile formed on his lips as he looked at her, making her heart flutter.

"Geese look kind of cute, don't they?" the prince said.

"Cute, you say?" the servant asked disgusted. "I find them scary as death."

Then she saw them walking away.

Her heart was still fluttering like a butterfly.

And her cheeks were still pink.

It was the first time she fell in love with a human being.

The day had turned darker and less sunny.

She tried to fall asleep on the grass next to the pond.

But she couldn't stop thinking about that prince.

If only she was a human too, so that he could fall for her, she was thinking.

She looked at the night sky.

Out of a sudden, she saw a shooting star flying.

She remembered hearing stories about how shooting stars could grant wishes.

So she closed her eyes and wished that she could become a human being.

Her heart was fluttering, hoping that it would come true soon.

But when she opened her eyes, she was still a goose.

Tears fell down her cheeks as she then tried to fall asleep.

The next day, she woke up on the grass.

Then she noticed that she had arms.

    Human arms.

Her eyes widened from the sight of it.

"I must be dreaming." she was thinking.

But the thing that happened seemed so real.

She looked at the reflection on the water, seeing a woman with long, dark hair wearing a white dress.

She couldn't believe that this woman was her.

"Good morning." she heard someone say.

Then a woman in a sparkling blue dress and fairy wings appeared in front of her.

She wanted to say good morning too, but there were no words coming out of her mouth.

"I'm the star fairy and I heard that you wish to become a human being."

    She nodded.

"So, it seems like you like that one handsome prince."

She nodded with a smile on her face.

"But I have to tell you that if that prince doesn't fall for you and marries someone else, then you will turn into a goose again."

    Then the fairy disappeared again.

She tried to stand up on her bare feet, but she had not gotten used to her human legs yet, so she fell on her bottom.

She tried again and this time she stood up

She was walking on the grass, trying to imitate the way, she had seen humans walk.

She walked out of the park and tried to find the castle.

She knew that princes lived in castles and was sure that this prince also did.

A moment later, she finally found the castle.

She saw some men standing outside.

She walked over to the front door.

But one of the guards grabbed her arms.

"Excuse me, but we can't let you in." the guard said.

She pointed at the door and tried to explain with her body language that she had to get in.

    The guard shook his head.

"Sorry, miss, but please go somewhere else."

Suddenly the front door opened, and she saw the prince standing there.

    Her heart started fluttering again.

    "What is going on here?"

"This woman was trying to get inside the castle."

"Why do you want to get inside the castle?" the prince asked.

    She pointed at him.

"I guess she must be here because she wants to meet me."

"Well, now you have met him. Now get out." the guard said to her.

"Wait, no," the prince said and grabbed her wrist. "let her come inside and eat some breakfast with me."

    "but Your Highnes-"

    "No buts here." he said.

She walked inside the castle with him.

She looked at the chandaliers and the paintings of the prince's ancestors.

"I would like to know what your name is." he said.

She flapped her arms, trying to tell him that her name was Goose.

    "Angel? Is that your name?"

    She shook her head.

"Well, I don't know what your name is, but you know that mine is Seonghwa, right?"

She was about to shake her head, but then she nodded, pretending that she knew him.

    "Of course."

They walked in the dining room.

There was bread and cakes standing on the white table.

She looked at the bread and got reminded of when people would feed bread to her, but she always felt sick afterwards.

He took at seat and the table and grabbed a bread biting into it.

She heard how crunchy the bread was.

She grabbed a bread too and bit into it, feeling that taste that makes her think of home.

    Seonghwa smiled at her.

"I guess you really love bread." he said.

    She nodded.

After having eaten together in the dining room, they went back in the hallway, where the paintings were.

"Did you find the food delicious?" he asked.

    She nodded.

He looked at the front door.

"I guess it is time for you to go."

She took his hand and shook her head, before she hugged him.

    He looked at her surprised.

"Alright then, you can stay here as long as you want." he says.

She wanted to stay with him forever.

    End of Part 1.

I don't know if I'm going to write Part 2...
