RE: Will Kim Garam redebut?

  • Well, if we're going on the discussion about whether her "cancelling" and removal of the group was fair..i do agree..what she did might have not been right, but she was very very young and it didn't seem like that was a repeated action but rather she changed and focused on her dreams. So i do think it was unfair..

I don't want to discuss 'allegations' over and again.

As far as I know, they are still 'allegations' and that she was hardly even a teen when said incidents happened. In a decent society, people should not be punished - legally or socially for such things.

But SK and Kpop is not there yet...

I want her to return and succeed, because that I think will be move the society further, towards more acceptance and less lynch mob mentality.

Otherwise I have no personal investment.

  • They're not allegations though.

  • The challenge I see is this: Hybe chose to end the contract based on evidence they learned. We have not seen all the evidence they might have seen, only what she then published after the fact. Is there more stuff that we’re not seeing that made Hybe jump ship and/or feel like she was a bigger risk?

I don’t know but that would certainly be the question I’d be asking and researching as another company. Of course, she will want to clear her name but it’s not worth it to Hybe to keep talking about it after the fact with a “well actually” and provide their justification (particularly if they are trying to severe a contract) when they can just move on and rebuild.

Any new company would have to address that aspect and/or do the tear stained letter thing if they want her to appear as an idol. Alternatively, she could consider a career in Kpop but not as an idol - is she good enough to be a soloist? The last option would be to embrace the “bad girl” role and again work as a soloist.

I agree. But honestly, it's also worth to mention that the damage was done. The public "court" had already found her guilty, and her presence in the group would generally hinder them, for Hybe..they had no reason to keep her honestly.
