SEA is under represented lol why only Singapore and Thailand. On the note of language similarities, Thai and Lao language are also 90 - 99% understandable since Lao language is like the Isan dialect of Thai language (depends which Thai dialect you speak).

Since I have studied Japanese, it has given me a good start re Mandarin Chinese due to the Kanji are Chinese characters etc.
