    In the past decade how many groups not from big 4 or produce have actually made a name for themselves at the top? A few dozens, out of tens of hundreds of groups that debuted. And a lot of nugus release music just as good as big 4 / produce groups. So luck is overwhelmingly important to break out. People asking questions like op is really just fishing for people to drag the group

    They're known about in the kpop hip-hop scene, as a very well regarded (and quite underground) producer. i can't help that you don't know them, but it's not surprising that a standard kpoppie has no idea who they are.

    No since big companies are what help these groups get a bigger audience to check them out.

    Although, the song wouldn't have been this big if it wasn't good. SK can check out the debuts from big companies but will they continue to listen to it if it's bad? Nope (O.O or WADADA are examples)

    nmixx case is like an outlier i would say. how many groups debuted in big4 that wasn't 'successful' besides nmixx, and then how many got big. i'd rather sold 100k+ and deemed as failure in a big4 than nugus honestly lol.
