Was it a mistake for Jang Gyuri to leave fromis_9 while they're on an upward trend?

Jang Gyuri chose to focus on an acting career, and chose not to renew her contract with Pledis/Hybe.

What does her prospect look like as an actress?

Well it really depends on what she wants as her future goal. What if she's tired of idol life, or want to challenge herself without doing both, scheduling conflict and what not.

Some people stays in the same job for decades, some move around every 5 or so years, its really normal. We have stop looking at it as 'did she make a mistake?' but as 'looking forward to her next project'. Even famous actresses started out as a nobody, this time, Gyuri gotta prove herself. Take any small roles she possibly can and improve herself that way. Who knows, maybe she'll find her passion somewhere along the line, or a character that would launch her career.

She's only leaving the group and not the entertainment industry, so I think we will see her again.

Honestly, yes. Fromis_9 was on an upward trend, getting more recognition and appearing in Hybe-related shows like the Game Caterers. Gyuri should've waited abit more before leaving as an actress.

She's only had one tiny small supporting role as a nurse in Kim Soo-hyun's drama, and barely have lines and appeared for like 10 seconds every episode. If she had stayed and made a bigger name for herself as an idol, she could've taken bigger roles, or maybe even as the big supporting cast in dramas.
