Context: a former idol left the group he was in to pursue an acting career, but his career never took off. He was experiencing severe financial hardships and saw a job offer online that paid well and looked to be legit.
Soon after he started working, he realized that it was actually a voice phishing scam and turned himself into the police and revealed everything to them, because he's a decent person actually and he got scammed himself.
Thanks to him, three actual criminals behind the operation were arrested.
An article came out revealing the group and people started speculating which of the former members it was, basically outing the person who courageously came to the police knowing they themselves would be blamed and embroiled in the situation even if they were basically a victim themselves.
Some of the comments:
QuoteDisplay More"Wow...I wish he wouldn't get punished. So unfortunate."
"So unfortunate. He himself got tricked too."
"Wow, how did he figure it out and catch all the signs? So amazing of him."
"That's good of him. He was courageous by confessing after realizing it."
"He must have been scared."
"There's a lot of people who get tricked by these part-time jobs. You have to be careful."
"He did well. He had courage."
"Wow...at least he figured it out quickly."

Additional comments from theqoo:
- He made a mistake but as soon as he realized the truth, he did the right thing.. Just let him be held accountable as an ordinary person and allow him to start a new life..
- There are so many young people who get scammed to do jobs like the one he did, they're also victims, so many of them commit suicide because the law does not protect them and they themselves have to pay back all the money to the voice phishing scam victims.
- He didn't know that it was a scam when he applied and he turned himself in as soon as he realized.
- Are you a real journalist?
- Why are you revealing his identity?
- Why are you outing him, who is also a victim?
- Why are "reporters" harassing a victim?
- No, the kid who turned himself in.. he didn't know when he started working there and he informed the police as soon as he found out the truth
- He's a victim too
- These reporters don't seem to have any humanity
