Are we still gonna pretend that other Iz*One soloists like Yuri and Eunbi aren't flopping?

  • Wiz*Ones gonna throw around album sales like they don't have a large fandom, but in the charts, their songs are nowhere to be found, and they have no domestic presence. They're not invited on variety shows, and despite their attempts at creating viral Tik-Tok choreos, literally no one is covering them.

All stats and figures show that they are the equivalent of a mediocre girl group, and the only reason why Wiz*Ones keep insisting their girls are doing so great is because they're not buried in a girl group like the other Produce predecessors, and are able to work under their own names.

They are essentially in the same boat as the many Wanna One soloists who don't have any signature songs, their songs are out of the charts quickly and never have any songs played or covered on shows.

  • That's kind of funny. I was told produce privilege was on par and even more powerful than big 4 privilege.

Not sure if you're saying like it's a good or bad thing, but Big 4 groups get tons of benefits throughout their career, but the Produce name only gets them attention from the jump. After that, it's all up to the idols and their own companies. Some Produce idols have worked their way to huge successes.

  • At least their sales are going up every realest, like yuri selling better this comeback than here debut… it’s gives me hope since they have time to get a hit without their label dropping them

  • yena is the only izone soloist who got a successful debut. Her song is still charting on melon.

I was being sarcastic to the people claiming produce idols get more opportunities and fame than big 4. Everyone used to agree the only privilege they get is that initial boost until ive started doing well then suddenly it's better than anything big 4 idols can dream of.

  • Funnt, so i guess produce privilege isn’t all that powerful after all. Here i thought it was the sole reason for ive’s success.

  • Even somi flopped for her debut. Charting as a soloist is not easy as some of you think

  • idk but anyone who is still pretending like the IZ*ONE girls are worse off than the two who didn't make it into the group is lying to themselves.

I would be LIVID if I was Chowon or Gaeun. Making it into a produce group is not just about the fame that comes with being a group member; it's also the industry exposure afterwards, too. I don't know how those girls were compensated but I really hope it was a huge amount because they were robbed of a serious opportunity.

It's more than just charting tho. Even if Somi's songs underperformed, she's still got presence in variety shows and is demand in CFs. She's still promoting extremely well and guested on tons of programs.

The same could not be said for Yuri or Eunbi. When's the last time they were invited on any kind of TV variety shows? Or are they in demand for CFs? They are essentially the same as a nugu girl group and the only thing Wiz*Ones have going for them is oh how great the album sales are.

I fully agree. Both were robbed of a successful career path, of a blooming idol future.

Chowon has to take a backseat in a group that's a pale shadow in success and popularity of IZ*One and their own sister group, I-dle, while she could've been the star singer in IZ*One. And Gaeun had to stop being an idol to become a struggling actress, after she had promised her mother that she could finally take care of her after she ended up #1 in after one of the weekly evaluations.

The PD's and Mnet basically used and then robbed Chowon and Gaeun of their futures, broke their rising careers, just so that they could get some sex and hostess services by some bribing idol companies :cursing:
