Some legends be like:

  • Well... I'm currently reading a book about legends and stuff in Faroe Islands, Norway, Sápmi and Greenland.

And this is pretty much how most legends, I have heard about selkies and stuff are.

Some guy goes to the beach.

He sees some people take off their animal skins and then dance.

He steals one of the skins.

Then these people are done dancing they were doing and take their skin again and go back to the sea.

But one woman can't find her skin.

This guy walks over to her and invites her to his house.

He puts the animal skin in a chest and locks it.

And then these two get married and have children

And he always has the key with him.

Then one day he goes out fishing

and he forgot to take the key with him.

She is at home feeling a bit sick, and then she finds the key.

And she opens the chest with her animal skin, and immediately leaves the house and goes back to the sea.

And he gets home and sees that she and the animal skin is gone and gets sad.

She never returned to the land, but when her children are playing on the beach, she watches them.
