    I. Introduction

    Indigo is the first studio album by RM, the leader of the South Korean boy group BTS, formerly known as Rap Monster.


    II. Background & Release

    RM stated that he wanted the audience to get to know the band members of BTS as individuals rather than as a group BTS. It was then revealed they all had solo music in the works that they were preparing to release. The album was released on December 2nd, 2022.

    On the monthly charts, it was ranked at #3 on the South Korean Albums (Circle) Book Edition, #6 on the South Korean Albums (Circle) Weverse Album, and #11 on the Japanese Albums (Oricon) Book Edition.


    In 2022 on the yearly charts, it was ranked at #31 on the South Korean Albums (Circle) Book Edition and #74 on the South Korean Albums (Circle) Weverse Album.


    In 2023 on the yearly charts, it was ranked at #12 on the US World Albums (Billboard), and #93 on the Japanese Hot Albums (Billboard Japan).
