Red Velvet released its eighth extended play (EP), RBB, on November 30, 2018. The EP featured 6 songs that reflect Red Velvet's unique musical approach: a combination of "red" (primarily bright pop) and "velvet" (more r&b and ballads) songs. This release was entirely "velvet."
II. Commercial Performance
RBB was #1 in 17 countries on iTunes, reflecting a strong and positive international response. It reached #2 on the Billboard World Album Charts and topping the Top Heartseekers Album Chart. In Korea, the EP debuted and peaked at #3 on the Gaon Album chart, making it the group's tenth consecutive top three entry. It also charted in Japan, France and the UK. The lead single "RBB (Really Bad Boy" topped the U.S. Billboard World Digital chart, making it their first time. It became the group's eleventh top ten hit on the Gaon Digital Chart.
