II. Background
Industry insiders started reporting that THE BOYZ were set to come back in early November on October 12, 2021. Cre.Ker Entertainment later confirmed this on October 15, and gave the official date of November 1.
More details were given on October 18 with a photo of the album artwork posted to their social media. They also revealed that the release would be a single album.
From October 19 to 27, they dropped a variety of teasers from photos, an MV teaser, a trailer, an album teaser, etc. They even teased a Halloween dance practice of the title track!
The MV and single album was fully released on November 1.

MAVERICK's first week sales were 489,662. Slightly less than their previous release THRILL-ING at 523,630. As of November 15, 2021, it has sold over 556,460 copies. MAVERICK has, as of date, received 5 music show wins. MAVERICK also debuted at #1 on the weekly Gaon Album Chart on November 10, 2021.
