Hyungwon

Hyungwon (형원) is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, model, and DJ signed under Starship Entertainment. He is currently a member of the boy group Monsta X. In 2017 he began performing as a DJ under the name DJ H.ONE.

I. Pre-Debut

Hyungwon was born Chae Hyungwon (채형원) on January 15, 1994 in Gwangju, South Korea. During his trainee period at Starship Entertainment, Hyungwon worked as a model for various fashion shows including the Ceci Fashion Show in 2014. In December 2014, Hyungwon competed as a contestant on the survival show No.Mercy and won the opportunity to join the group that would become Monsta X.

II. Career

Hyungwon made his debut as a member of Monsta X on May 15, 2015 with the release of their first mini album Trespass.

In 2016, Hyunwgon appeared in the music video for K.Will's "You Call It Romance" gaining praise for his performance.

In 2017, Hyungwon made his acting debut in the KBS2 drama Please Find Her. He also began working as a DJ using the name DJ H.ONE. He performed alongside DJ Justin Oh at the KCON Japan 2017 and the 2017 Ultra Music Festival Korea.

In 2018, Hyungwon again performed at the Ultra Music Festival and released a collaboration with DJ Jimmy Clash. In 2019, Hyungwon and VIXX's Hongbin collaborated on the track "Cool Love" for Pepsi's The Love of Summer campaign.

In 2020, Hyungwon wrote, composed, and produced the song "Nobody Else" for Monsta X's album Fatal Love. It marked the first time he participated in each aspect of song production.

In June 2021, it was announced that Hyungwon will appear in the musical web-drama Fly Again.

• His parents own a travel agency, where he used to work when he was younger.
