D1CE is a five member boy group, operating under a subsidary of Happyface Entertainment (D1CE Entertainment, created specifically for the group). The members were found throuhg the H Next Boys Project, this was a project group called HNB, containing all of the male trainees under HF Music Company (Happyface Trainees Label). 14 Trainees released two special tracks under HNB, before the final 5 member lineup was decided.
All of the HNB trainees had featured on the failed YG Survival Show MIXNINE, with Woo Jin Young (now in D1CE) finishing first place. Various members had appeared on other survival shows, such as Yonggyeon (D1CE), Woodan (D1CE) and Woo Jin Young also taking part in Produce 101 Season 2, and Jung Yoo Jun (formerly Jung Minhwan) on BOYS24. Woo Jin Young is also a former JYP trainee, Yong Geun a former DSP trainee and Woo Dam a mukbang BJ.
HNB became D1CE in March 2019, and debuted officially on August 1st 2019, with the release of their debut mini album "Wake Up: Roll The World".
