I. Introduction:
Da-iCE (pronounced Dice) is a five-member male artist group, celebrated for its two four-octave vocalists. The group consists of five members: vocalists Yudai Ohno and Sota Hanamura, and performers Taiki Kudo, Toru Iwaoka, and Hayate Wada. They were formed on January 17, 2011, and made their official debut on January 15, 2014 under Universal Sigma and quickly gained recognition, winning the Best Five New Artist Award in 2015. Their success continued with milestone performances, including Nippon Budokan in 2017. After joining avex trax in 2020, they released “DREAMIN’ ON,” which became the theme for *ONE PIECE*, and “CITRUS,” which set records and won the 63rd Japan Record Award. In 2022, their song “Star Mine” earned the MTV Breakthrough Song Award and was honored at the Japan Record Awards.
The group name “Da-iCE” is a combination of the words “DANCE” and “DICE,” because “Da-iCE” is formed by the five members (five sides) plus the fans (the sixth side), and the “a-i” (Japanese for “love”) in lower case expresses their desire to be an artist filled with love.
