I. Introduction
U-Chae (유채) formerly known by her stage name Dajeong (다정) is an South Korean singer under Junity Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl groups PIXY and SUPA.
II. Career
Dajeong debuted as a member of SUPA on November 8, 2016 with the release of their first digital single, "SUPA". The girl group released one more single in 2017 before disbanding the following year. After the disbandment in 2018, she would become an trainee under Marbling E&M Inc. However this also would not be a permanent place for her, as in October 2019, Dajeong appeared on an episode on ZAMSTER. After that appearance on, July 3, 2020, she was revealed as a member of the girl group PIXY. The group officially debuted on February 24, 2021 with the digital single "With My Wings".
After 3 years with the group and watching other founding members of PIXY leave, on June 20, 2024, Dajeong announced via her Instagram that would be leaving PIXY as well. Just a few short days later, on June 22, it was announced that she will be a special panelist at the Otakon under her new stage name U-Chae.
On July 11, 2024, U-Chae announced that she would be making her solo debut coinciding her 21st birthday on July 31st with the mini album Awake. Prior to the album's release, "One Sweet Day" would be made available as a pre-release single on July 17th, 2024.
On July 22, 2024, U-Chae revealed that together with Jayoung from Rolling Quartz, she recorded the song "Let's Roll" for the SNK video game The King of Fighters XV. It would debut during the professional tournament for the game at EVO 2024, and became the official theme song for the KOF league.
