Look at the history of the last 20 years. Putin will take exactly as much as he is allowed to. In the early nineties - Moldova (took part of the territories and made the republic of Transnistria), then two wars in Chechnya (now Chechnya is part of Russia), then in 2008 in Georgia (took part of the territories and made the republic of Abkhazia), then in 2014 took Crimea from Ukraine, now wants to take all of Ukraine.
Why do the countries that directly border Russia (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) help Ukraine the most? Because they know exactly what they are next.
