Yall fighting over their promo is giving who's the favorite member energy tbh. So I'm just gonna state my opinion. NO ONE is the favorite member. Infact, I genuinely believe YG doesn't care about blackpink enough to have a favorite member.
To me it looks like the members are promoted based on their commercialability and type of markets they have.
Jennie is the it girl in korea, the gp gives her all the clout, so lets give her variety appearances to promote her solo. And it wasn't even a lot of appearances from what I've seen.
Rosé is the musically inclined indie girl and fits the mould of a traditional female soloist so let's give her tons of music shows appearances. Her first language is English? Let's give her some American appearances too.
Lisa is not that popular in korea. But she has a huge ass fandom who will buy everything physical she puts out. So let's make money from her. Let's do as many fansigns as you can to make her album reach 1m sales and make her the first female soloist in ages to do so, and earn shit load of money.
Jisoo is the actress so let's give her a kdrama. I won't be surprised if her solo is just her Kdrama ost tbh. And I doubt she will get any, and I mean any international promo if her actual solo is released. Cause she isn't that popular in western countries. She could get promo in Japan tho.
My words might be harsh but this is exactly how I feel a company thinks, especially a company like YG. Your frustrations about lack of promo and terrible roll outs are completely valid both in the context of solos and group, but at the end of the day if that's the mindset a company has then nothing can be done about it truly.
