"On the Ground" by Rose is that rare song that manages to be both annoying and boring.
It's basically a humble brag in a song. She just started out as a K-pop star and she's already talking about coming down from fame; isn't that kind of pretentious? It's obvious when someone is trying to break out of a group as a solo artist, they will try to make some kind of statement-- however vacuous and pretentious-- and "On the Ground" is basically a "statement" song about humility (or rather faux-humility), transparently so. Maybe we can all see through the bullshit that they are trying to sell us all in good time...or maybe not. It is the equivalent of a teenager trying to write the Great American novel, you don't have enough experience, heartache or the needed stoicism for that.
