Why do a lot of people still choose BTS and Blackpink?

…even if there are numerous kpop groups that promote or have concerts in US, Japan, etc or have more contents and releases?

They are good, authentic and unique. Almost everything feels like their wannabe version

as a non korean person i hope korea fixes this huge problem!!

bc many don't consider them kpop

they still are, but many of the fans don't have the "kpop mentality" where you check out different group open minded & be interested in new people bc many of them were locals before. As a fan who only has followed a couple of western artists, being invested in more than 1 group & its members is just too much for me. also, following a group closely, just to drop them for the next best thing (and this on repeat) seems a strange concept.

at last, i checked out a few other popular groups in the beginning, but not one of them clicked with me like my faves did.

Because BTS has everything you need. That's the case for me at least.

Because they are the most popular meaning they have the most exposure so it's more probable they hear about bts or bp first than any other group

Bp are queens they have everything

The korean government was paid by big corporation and forced them onto the world. The true talents are in SM and JYP but unfortunately they will never get the same exposure

You know that it's sm acts that met with Trumps and went to NK with the government right? So this argument is really funny cause BH wasn't as big and closely tied with government as SM when they broke out globally.

people can say what they want but they do have more IT factor than all other bgs and ggs imo
