I do think it's beneficial for a group's success when a large portion of the fandom either stans only that group, or prioritises them above everyone else. (If the popularity or age gap between the two groups is massive, or the groups are opposite gender, multis are not really a huge issue either.)
I've observed this in my own fandom too. The more successful they became, the more it seems that the majority of the fandom ults them (although they have a good amount of casual listeners too)
While I consider a majorly one-group-only fandom composition beneficial, I also have to say multis are useful for the growth of a group too. You don't want to close off your faves from all other kpop stans too much; it's better if they "leak" onto the timelines are into circles of fans of other groups, who might later become fans.

to be completely honest I'm not sure exactly what the title is trying to say even after rereading three times. It's a bit ambiguous.

This remembers me what I was analyzing during MAMA voting. There were groups doing better in the voting on the 1st round when fans were able to vote for more than one group. But during the 2nd round, when It was necessary to choose a priority and vote only for one group, some groups' performance wasn't a good as 1st round.

Meaning they'll lose album sales and votings to the groups that have more solo stan (prioritize the group)
