Je suis un 2nd year french student(lol my attempt to combine english and french).
I recommend using duo lingo, it is not too bad. Also, google translate isn't your best friend. Some expressions don't translate exactly, but if it is simple words then it is fine. In duo lingo there is a translator that is a lot more accurate.
I also recommend starting with the basics such as Jm'appelle, thank you and etre.
You need to learn things such us etre, faire, aller, avoir, poivoir etc. For example, search up etre conjugation. It will help.
From what I see you know the basics and je, tu, il/elle/on, nous, vous, and ils, and elles.
