Is the modern internet creating global s*xual selection?

  • The modern internet: social media, communications apps and the like have created sexual competition at a global scale. Anyone can 'travel' virtually and see and/or interact with people half way across the world. Obviously people will seek out those who they find most appealing.

This also means that people that are generally considered unattractive will be ignored at unprecedented levels since the beginning of humanity. They are less likely to meet partners, have children and spread their genes.

YouTube is full of incels (both male and female kind) who can't find a partner. These people are slowly becoming more aggressive and anti-social, and they don't understand it's the fault of the genetic lottery as to why they are not finding a partner, but they blame the others. This can become very dangerous.

How should society deal with this or should Darwinian forces run its course?
