People's Power 35%, Democratic Party 33%... Party support rate reversal within margin of error [NBS]
The People Power Party (PPP) has overtaken the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) in public support within the margin of error, according to a recent poll. The survey, conducted by four polling agencies—Embrain Public, Kstat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research—from January 13 to 15 as part of the National Barometer Survey (NBS), showed the PPP's support at 35% and the DPK's at 33%. This marks the first time since the December 12–3 martial law incident that the PPP's support has surpassed the DPK's within the margin of error.
Compared to last week, the PPP's support increased by 3 percentage points, while the DPK's dropped by 3 percentage points, resulting in a 2-point difference between the two parties. This shift caused the two parties to swap their first and second positions within the margin of error. Following the two main parties, the National Innovation Party registered 8%, the Reform Party 3%, and the Progressive Party 1%, while 17% of respondents were undecided or did not know.
The survey was conducted through phone interviews using randomly generated mobile numbers, targeting 1,005 men and women aged 18 and older nationwide. The response rate was 19.6%, and the margin of error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For further details, refer to the National Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
