Well... there was that time when some books were being based on Harry Styles fanfics. (e.g. After and The Idea Of You)
And I recently found out about a book where the love interest is based on Bang Chan. (some STAYs were not happy about that)
But well... characters being based on real people is nothing new though.
And I know that some movies and TV series have characters based on some celebrities or parodying them.
I remember though when I was writing a short story and imagined one of the characters to look like a blond Eddie Redmayne, but I guess that is kinda different, because if you read that short story, you wouldn't be thinking "Oh, Eddie Redmayne".
Like the short story didn't sound like some weird Eddie Redmayne fanfic. I think I was pretty much just imagining him playing the role of the character (despite the fact that it would most likely never happen).
There are times when I have wanted to write a short story based on some kpop fanfic that I have written in the past, but would maybe change the characters' names and change some other stuff, so that it isn't obvious that it was originally a kpop fanfic.
I know that there is this "extreme horror" author, who wrote a book that pretty much seems like a "fanfic" of a female celebrity being tortured...
And the same author wrote a book where he seriously based a horror book on someone, who didn't like one of his books.
And some books, where the love interest is based on some celebrity, have "spicy" scenes in it...
Which might be crossing the line.
Well... I am currently writing a short story, where one character is a bit inspired by Seonghwa, but also other people e.g. a former crush and Kang Tae Oh's character in Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
But in that short story, the character is just someone that the main character has a crush on, but he only sees her like a friend. And there is no "spicy stuff" in it.
I ended up rambling...
