Firefighter got attacked with fireworks & other new years chaos

    The firefighters in the German city Berlin got attacked with fireworks as they were driving to an emergency. The firefighters (in total 70 people) were alarmed to a 7 story large house who's basement caught on fire and than got violently attacked by people on their way to the house wich is the reason that their firetrucks got demaged. It was also reported that even buildings and passerby were attacked with the fireworks.

    Other new year news from Germany

    • Many places around Germany report hedges and bushes who caught on fire
    • One town reports a gigantic tree who caught on fire
    • An basement in a house in the city of Potsdam exploded. The suspected objects are probably fireworks
    • They also reported people in different places around Germany who apparently tried to "prank" the police and firefighters with blank guns
    • Another group of firefighters arived to extinguish a fire in a car and people violently attacked the firefighters with fireworks
    • In some town the firefighters report garbage cans who caught on fire

    After the attacks earlier today the police in Germany now wants that it's getting made illegal to use fireworks


    It's really bad what had happend. You are a police officer, firegfighter, paramedic,... and instead of being able to do your work some assholes try to kill you with fireworks ... wtf

    Tbh I think regulating fireworks ( i.e. requiring permits for fireworks use / Licensing designated fireworks users) is the way to go.


    More or less people still want to do fireworks and attacking emergency workers is usually not on people's to do lists.


    Its a shame that they would outright ban it as a kneejerk reaction
