Why English songs like “Boys Like You” Itzy and “Life’s Too Short” Aespa all flop?

  • The songs sound very teen pop, easy to listen and targeted for the US yet both flop in streams. What went wrong?

  • Cause teen pop isn't popular in the U.S.

  • Aespa enter rhe top 50 of US pop radio and stay there for weeks soni wouldn't call this such a flop

  • Just like Twice, Korean Girl Groups trying to promote English stuff in the west ends in failure.

  • The songs are very dated.

  • both songs give tiktok teenage girls vibes, like bella porch sstuff its no surprise they flopped. both songs are good as a side song in the album but not a push to the us fans

  • Boys like you should've smashed. It's all good. Itzy are just starting. This was a practice shot.

  • Aespa would have done better w an English Next Level. NJ should release Attention in English. I don’t the labels understand actual US taste, they seem very behind on trends.

  • I hear Attention a couple of time on Australian radio (usually as part of triple j DJ mixes) and it doesn’t stick out in an awkward way. The English might be part of the issue here

  • because the songs are dated, formulaic and don't stand out. they should have tried something more kpop to stand out
