Why did Mnet not put any money towards Kepler and their debut when they invested all that money into a huge Produce-like survival show?

Why did Kepler get such a questionable debut track and concept when they've already invested into GP999 and aiming to make a global super girl group?

Especially when every Produce season gets more money as they go on, and GP999 is essentially a Produce spin-off/sequel/season 5 etc.

Did Mnet look at the final lineup and was like oh crap it wasn't as good/popular as we thought it would be and decided to not continue putting money into this mess or what is it?

There wasn't any stars like Somi, Sejeong, Daniel, etc. from that talent pool, and there's no point dumping money in there when the hype isn't there anyways
