noze and irene are both beautiful and very talented (although it can be undermined by some) women so it doesnt really have anything to do with pretty privelege or being a woman or anything like that
but ive noticed they have very similar scandals.
noze: power trip small companies (while she did carry out all her contracts fully, except for one that she refunded, she was hard to reach for small companies and stressed them out beausse of her lack of communication and then would remove their products from her insta as soon as the contract ended)
irene: screamed and power tripped an editor
in both cases, the women were getting hate because of power tripping. however, with irene, kpop fans seem to be claiming to give her a second chance while not letting this die, making up excuses (that the editor messed up and deserved the yelling), or just harassing the editor to this day (dont come and say not all kpop fans, i know this isnt all kpop fans but the editor is being attacked and its by kpop fans, specifically irene fans). on the other hand, noze was like abandoned. everyone condones her, she cried and still no one cared and even after her apology people just dont care. no excuses were made, people are saying she let the fame get to her head and most people just unfollowed her and moved on. she obviously still has fans but theyre not out attacking the companies that exposed her or making excuses (a few are saying she didnt break any of the contracts which is true but they arent defending her lack of communication or anything) but rather theyre just choosing to believe in her apology and hope she's better.
using this, you can kinda compare the privelege and curse that comes with kpop. there are people who are never going to admit any fault with irene. the editor could drop the video and irene could be screaming like a maniac and these fans would just harass the editor more. kpop seems to open up the gateway for just the most delusional fans who will never turn on you (look at all the seungri supporters) and while this is somewhat a privelege (like you will forever have support just because you're a kpop idol), its also a curse. these fans are not letting this scandal die and it will haunt irene till she leaves the entertainment world. because they are so delusional, they think they're seeking justice and dont even realize that they're hurting their idol more. whereas noze, she got no support. it was mostly a free for all when it came to hating on her for her scandal. her fans may have sent her support comments but there were no excuses or anything. however, in the aftermath of the scandal, she is still able to move on. her collab with jp went well (i saw 0 hate omments) and if she manages herself and her image well, she'll be fine and be able to recover like some of the other swf women who were embroiled in controversies. maybe she won't return to her original aclaim (but lets be honest, neither is irene) but she'll be okay whereas irene is going to forever have this follow her because of her kpop privelege/curse (whatever you want to call it )
