• I. Introduction

Plyzen was originally a South Korean Rock focused label located in Seoul, South Korea. They would start up distributing rock albums from other countries to South Korea (mainly Japan, Italy and Sweden).

II. Later History of the Label, Merging into CJ Music and Closing the Doors

Around 2002 they would start branching out into Rap, R&B, and Pop. Signing up artists like BADA right after she left SM Entertainment, and R&B Singer J after she left Seoul Records. They would also start to distribute OSTs and foreign European and US artists that were not mainstream. Japanese artists Mai Kuraki and Rina Aiuchi would have single releases through Plyzen in 2003 & 2004. Mai Kuraki would also release her greatest hits album Wish You The Best in South Korea in 2004 through Plyzen.

At some point in 2005, Plyzen would become an part of CJ Music and eventually completely dissolved. By 2006, Plyzen's signed roster would be completely moved over to CJ Music. CJ Music would also take on some of the distribution deals Plyzen had with rock acts outside the country but would seemingly discontinue the distribution of the heavy and death metal genre acts that had long relationships with Plyzen.

III. The Aftermath for the Artists

Fragments of D-Generation by Disarmonia Mundi and Crater by Fission would be the last released albums by those artists to South Korea as they did not get migrated to CJ Music and did not have any other distribution in the country.

Kim Kyung-Ho would move from Plyzen to MNet Music Media, which also eventually merged into CJ E&M. CJ Entertainment had previously acquired M.Net's networks and M.Net's music branch in mid 1997, less than 5 years after it originally launched in 1993 as Music Network.

The band Newk would end up bouncing around to many different sublabels under CJ Music in the 19 years since the merging of Plyzen, not staying at a single one for more than 2-3 years max.

Mai Kuraki's music would move by 2008 to being printed by CNL Music in South Korea. Though oddly enough her digital distribution in Korea would remain with CJ E&M, and be moved to the Stone Music Entertainment branch in 2021.

Rina Aiuchi would stop releasing music in South Korea after the merger.

Bada would go on to release her 3rd album, "Made in Sea" under CJ Music and her management company JI/IN Management in 2006, it would later on be so successful it would have a repackaging in mid-2006.

The Plyzen website would still be live until the end of 2007 and can be viewed via the Wayback Machine on Archive.org

By early 2008 any reprints of albums originally released under Plyzen would have the CJ Music label.
