    Who is Nissy?

    Nissy (にっしー) is a Japanese singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of the pop group AAA in 2005. He's also the vocalist of the rock band GRAPEVINE. Nissy has released four solo albums since 2011.


    Early Life

    Nissy was born in Tokyo on May 30th, 1983 as Takahiro Nishijima. He was raised in a musical family and started playing the guitar at the age of 13. He wrote his first song at the age of 15.


    Career

    In 2005, Nissy joined the J-pop group AAA as vocalist and composer. He remained a part of AAA until November 1st, 2017 when he left the group to focus on his solo career. His solo career was very successful with many charting singles and albums. In 2018, he took part in the reality show “The Handshakers” on TV Tokyo and released his third studio album “Love Story”. In 2019, Nissy formed the rock band GRAPEVINE with five other members.

    Nissy has collaborated with many artists such as GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE, DJ DASK, UVERworld and more. He also featured in several songs by other artists like Koda Kumi, Namie Amuro and Ayumi Hamasaki.


    Discography

    His discography includes four studio albums, one mini album and several singles. His most successful song is “Papa Mama” which reached #1 on the Oricon Singles Chart in 2011.

    Nissy is married and has two children. He currently resides in Tokyo.
