Brave Girls - Rollin'


  • I. Introduction


    Rollin' is the fourth mini album by Brave Girls.

    It was released on March 7, 2017 by Brave Entertainment and distributed by CJ E&M.
    This marks the first release as a five-member group, since the original member Yoojin and Hyeran stop promotions with the group in early 2017.

    The album contains 5 tracks with Rollin serving as the title track.
    Prior to the song's release KBS deemed "Rollin'" unfit for broadcast, stating that certain parts of the lyrics contained a slang word which was too vulgar. A representative from Brave Entertainment responded that they would revise the lyrics in order for the song to be re-evaluated.

    On March 8, 2017, it was reported that the ban had been lifted.




    II. Commercial Performance



    The EP at first was a moderate success peaking at number 30 on the Gaon Album Chart.

    In late February 2021, four years after the song was released, a compilation video of Brave Girls performing the song became viral on YouTube. As a result, the song gained a surge in popularity and rose to the top of real-time music charts.

    It soon achieved a "perfect all-kill", simultaneously topping all real-time charts in South Korea, and became the first song by a group to do so in 2021.

    On March 22, 2021, "Rollin'" topped the charts for 198 hours, leading Brave Girls to became the girl group with the most "perfect all-kills" record.

    At the time of its original release, "Rollin'" failed to enter the Gaon Digital Chart.

    For the week ending on February 27, 2021, the song entered at number 60 on the Gaon Download Chart. t subsequently entered the Gaon Digital Chart for the first time at number 2 in the week ending on March 6, 2021.For week ending March 21, 2021, the song topped the Gaon Digital Chart and stayed at the summit for two consecutive weeks, becoming the group's first number one hit.
