II. Career
Asahi was in YG Entertainment's survival show "YG Treasure Box" in 2018. He did not make it to the lineup of the group Treasure, but later YGE announced that he would join a second group from the show MAGNUM on January 29, 2019. MAGNUM and Treasure were intended to be two units that would promote separately and as one group TREASURE 13. However, due to controversies with the agency, the group's debut was post-phoned.
YGE announced on January 6, 2020 that the two units would be combined into one group only Treasure.
Treasure released a performance video for their pre-debut track "GOING CRAZY" on January 30. YGE made their debut announcement on July 20 with the release of a teaser video and poster. Treasure released their debut single album "THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE" on August 7.
