II. Career
Junkyu was in the survival show "MIXNINE" in 2017. He was eliminated in episode 10 at rank #35.
Junkyu was in YG Entertainment's survival show "TG Treasure Box" in 2018. He was announced as the fourth member of Treasure on the last episode.
YGE announced on January 29, 2019 that they would make a second group from the show called MAGNUM and they would promote together as TREASURE 13 and separately as units. Their debut did not pan out due to scandals with the agency.
YGE announced on January 6, 2020 that the two groups would combine into one group Treasure, and would not be two groups.
Treasure released a performance video for their pre-release track "GOING CRAZY" on January 30. YGE announced on July 20 with a teaser video and poster that Treasure would debut on August 7. Treasure debuted with their single album "THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE" on August 7.
