I. 2015–2016: myB
On August 25, 2015, Heejoo made her debut in Maroo Entertainment's girl group MyB. The group was announced to have disbanded after two singles on December 14, 2016. As a result, she left Maroo.
II. 2018–present: API
Heejoo was introduced as one of the four original trainees in BRICKWORK Company's upcoming girl group Ho1iday (now known as API).
On April 18, 2019, she officially made her debut with the group with a live performance of their debut song "Fantasy" on M Countdown.
