I. Introduction
LUCENTE is a six member boy group under NOGA Entertainment. The group is comprised of members Z.Hoo, Hero, Taejun, U.Seong, Kogun, and Parkha. Bao is a former member who left the group. They debuted with their mini album THE BIG DIPPER on September 18, 2018.
While the group never officially disbanded, LUCENTE hasn't done any activities since debut. And the remaining active members are doing their own independent projects. Leaving the status of the group in a questionable state.
Their name is a mix of Latin and English that means "shine as bright as the stars".
II. Career
Before LUCENTE debuted, the members have debuted in other boy groups and busking groups. U.Seong, for example, was in Trophy, Bao was going to join UC9, Kogun used to be in Zest, and Parkha was in Nu'Bility.
The boys trained under NOGA Entertainment years before their debut. They were rumored to debut in 2016, but this never happened for mysterious reasons.
During 2017, NOGA Entertainment promoted LUCENTE outside of Korea. They did a world promotion tour in India and judged India's 2017 K-Pop Contest Grand Finale. They also did promotions in Japan and Hong Kong as well.
Sometime before their debut, they also had lineup changes.
Before debut, LUCENTE was signed with Diamond Entertainment to promote future Japanese releases.
LUCENTE debuted on September 18, 2018 with their mini album THE BIG DIPPER. They performed on many music shows, and later went back to India to promote some more there as well.
A European tour was announced, but the tour was canceled.
In mid 2020, LUCENTE posted about an online fanmeet for their Japanese fans. However, the promotional photos did not have U.Seong, leading fans to feel questionable about the circumstances of the group. But it was later found out that U.Seong enlisted in the military. Of which, the company never gave notice or announcement about. He has since returned from enlistment however.
Bao and Tejun were revealed to be participating in digital survival show Burn It Up. The show was set to air in June 2020, but no further information was given since then. So nothing seems to have resulted from it.
Kogun and Parkha auditioned for the survival show G-EGG around this time. Both of them made won spots in the group NIK. NIK debuted on September 27, 2021, and both Kogun and Parkha are currently doing activities in the group.
Later in 2020, NOGA Entertainment removed songs and videos from LUCENTE's official YouTube channel due to switching distributors. They initially promised to re-upload the content later. Which has not happened yet.
Bao left the group in April 2021.
