I. Introduction
Shurai is the second EP (mini album) from Korean DJ and producer IMLAY. It was released on August 21, 2017 and features six songs, including the title track "Low."
II. Background & Release
IMLAY (임레이) is a Korean songwriter, musician, DJ and producer under SM Entertainment, who produces and mixes songs collaborating with SM artists, as well as other artists in Kpop and EDM. He also releases his own music and is known for his future bass and trap beats.
He described the album as a fusion of dance music, Korean lyrics and traditional orchestrations, capturing his style, which he describes as "an Asian heritage of Yin and Yang." The title track does not have lyrics, but other singer-songwriters feature on songs on the album, including American singer-songwriters Laura Brehm and Anna Yvette, Korean rapper Sik-K and Korean singer-songwriter Yeseo. The songs "Daylight," "Cerulean High" and "Decalcomanie" were remastered and rereleased as part of the SM Station digital music project, as the 14th and 15th singles of SM Station Season 2. Most of the songs are in English except for Sik-K's track "Decalcomanie."
