Lose Control is the debut solo EP by Chinese singer and rapper Lay (also known as Zhang Yixing in China). It was released on October 28, 2016.
II. Background and Overview
Released while he was still an active member of the Korean-Chinese boy group EXO, the EP featured 6 Chinese songs. It was released on October 28, 2016, with the single "what U need?" pre-released on October 7 as a birthday gift to his fans. Lay was also a producer and oversaw composition and writing of song lyrics, receiving credits on every song on the album. The lead single "Lose Control" was also released on October 28.

The album debuted at #1 on the Gaon Charts in Korea and the YinTueTai Chart in China. In China, it exceeded 50,000 copies a day after its release and broke 7 out of 8 Guinness World Records on the YinYueTai China Weekly Charts. It sold 260,000 physical copies in China at the time and went on to sell 1,169,584 downloads. The album was also the highest selling album by a solo artist at the time on the Hanteo charts in Korea with 246,000 copies. It also reached #4 on the U.S. Billboard World Albums Chart and #34 on the Japanese Oricon Charts.
The lead single "Lose Control" remained on top of the Billboard China V Chart for 6 consecutive weeks, as well as topping the "Alibaba Top 100 Weekly Songs" for 14 consecutive weeks. The prerelease single "what U need?" reached #4 on the China V Chart and U.S. Billboard World Digital Songs.
