The group was found in 2019 trought the survival programm 'a-genic project' where from over 100 trainees 12 female and 12 male trainees got selected to participate against eachother. At the end 5 male and 2 female member made it to GENIC. The show was held each week on Youtube. Trought out the programm the participants released 2 songs ' READY GO' and 'Natsukoi' together. Ttroughtout the show the participants also opend up a concert for the group Da-iCE. Later on they also opend up for the concert-event 'a-nation 2019' troughtout different locations allover Japan. At the middle of the show only 12 participants were left and at the end the final 7 member were announced.
On November 1st, 2019 the member made their first official apearance on Instagram via a live event. At the same day it was announced that the group's name would be GENIC.
GENIC held their first concert event on December 16th, 2019.
They made their official debut on May 27th, 2020 with their first album titled 'GENEX'
Outside of GENIC Atsuki is also working as actor and mid his acting debut in a webdrama in 2018. Maria is also working as model and wa crowned as Miss World Japan 2020 and will also participate for Miss World 2021. And Maria is also working as actress and made her debut in a drama in 2019. Ryuki is working as songwriter.
