I. Introduction
Yoo Ah-ra (아라), known by the stage names Ara and IKnow, is a Korean Singer/Songwriter and Breakdancer. She is a member of the girl group Astell and a former member of the girl groups Berryz, Ndear, N-DAY, Daydream and the dance teams ZERO and Babys. She made her original debut at 19 in 2020 as an member of Daydream, after half of the group's previous lineup had left the company. She was a trainee in multiple companies before her debut, however it is not public knowledge of which companies she was trained under.
II. Career
III. 2020-2021: Daydream, Aftermoon Ent. trainee
In April 2020, she joined Daydream as a new member after the departure of former members Chae Ha, Alim and Sorin. However, the group disbanded shortly after in July 2020 without any music release featuring the new lineup.
In early 2021, she became a trainee under Aftermoon Entertainment, presumably as one of the potential new members of We Girls. She left the company after not being chosen as the group's new member.
IIII. 2021-2022: Activities as an member of Babys, N-DAY, ZERO, & Ndear
In late 2021, she was announced as the newest member of the dance team Babys. They later announced that they will debut as an idol group under the name N-DAY after the addition of Bada. However, Bada left Babys shortly after and would continue with N-DAY while the other members, including Ara, would stay with Babys, indicating that Babys and N-DAY have become separate groups.
On July 20, 2022, she was revealed as the first member and the leader of the dance team ZERO.
On October 12, 2022, she was assumed to have joined the girl group Ndear following the group's reformation, after the Instagram account of her dance team ZERO was repurposed to Ndear's new account and remained to be following her and fellow ZERO member Byeoljji. She was officially introduced as a member of Ndear on October 14, 2022.
IIIII. 2023: Berryz
On May 16, 2023, she was introduced as a member of the upcoming girl group Berryz.
Sometimes in August 2023, they deleted all their SNS accounts, hinting their disbandment.
IIIV. 2024: Astell
On April 16, 2024, it was revealed that she, along with her former bandmate in Ndear and ZERO; Byeoljji, were introduced as members of the upcoming girl group Astell, and would debut in May 2024 with the single album "Island".However, their debut was postponed and rescheduled to July 9, 2024. They would then make their first public performance at the Boryeong Mud Song Festival on July 21st, 2024.
