I see the main reason is effort required vs results. BP has been concentrating on the American, and SEA market and recently the Chinese market to some extent. You can't do everything and if you attempt it you don't get the result you usually expect because you can only put in a half a$$ job. BP has no native speakers and they never attempted to train their girls for that. English/Thai/Korean etc... are their language specialties and were they have been focusing and done a "fairly" good job at that. It's not so much their cute concept as there are several Japanese acts that have done very well without the cute concept. E-Girls, Perfume, and for soloists their is a horde of non cute concept singers like Yoasobi, and LiSA (this is not Lisa)
I think she will definitely fit in and help quite a bit with the domestic sales. They aren't doing bad in sales but they could do a whole lot more with the talent they have and Yena will fit right in.
Shouldn't this be in the Korean thread not the Japanese thread?

The 46G and 48G are marketed quite differently in Japan but neither one of them really fit the mold of the 999G group would most likely be.
46G and 48G girls mainly do modern dance while Korean groups do Jazz or Hip Hop dancing. Singing style is also group oriented and not really solo spotlight type of singing that is popular in KPOP.
Also the 46G an 48G album sales are massive . IZ*ONE sales as an example for their Japanese releases aren't that impressive in comparison and since Akimoto is their primary promoter/producer when they are in Japan I think he just won't bother. He just won't be getting any huge money in return as it didn't his experiment with Produce 48 didn't really benefit him. Girls can leave 46G or 48G and then join but I don't see them sending team representatives.
She would fit right into this group. I have a feeling people here haven't really looked at this groups practice videos. They have 2 additional very very good dancers and if this is marketed as a dance heavy group like her sisters group she and they would shine. For example did you know that the dance video that was done at Chaeyeons Produce 48 groups debut stage was co-choreographed with one of the girls still at WM?
And what faith did SM rookies have. Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, shamanism???
This sounds more like background music than a music/song track Twice would sing too. Like a show opening for a new reality TV show. It's pure EDM with a simple melody that's repeated and has very little embellishing or places singing would pop out.
